Starting the Countdown....

We are beginning to think about our travels home!! Tomorrow is our last full day here in Guangzhou...we cannot believe 2 1/2 years in the waiting is now coming to an end and a whole new chapter is just beginning, with our sweet china doll.
Today was a great day for our family. We all got a great night's rest (which always helps) and Naomi seemed very relaxed and happier today. Not only have we discovered that she prefers the toilet, but also that she prefers I feed her with chopsticks!!! Our guide took us to a local chinese restaurant today for lunch and she chowed down, better than she has eaten since we got her. We could not believe it....I can barely use chopsticks myself...so it took a lot of tries to get it into her mouth, but she loved it!!! Boy, do I need some practice.
Tomorrow is a big day for Naomi. We head to the US Consulate for a "Swearing In Ceremony" and to get her VISA. We ask for prayer that these 2 appointments go smoothly, as we have to make it through this (and fully expect to) in order to travel home. Naomi will officially become a US citizen once we land in Chicago!!!!
Have a blessed day. We'll write more soon.

Wow! You've taken some great pictures. I'm anxious to hear Nate talk about all the animals, sights he has seen & friends he made. So, maybe we should have our Thanksgiving dinner with chop sticks?!? Hoping everything goes smoothly (I'm sure it will) & Ms. Funny Face is officially a U.S. citizen though she has no idea she is!

Wish I could say that the time has flown by, but unfortunately it seems like forever! I can't wait to really meet Naomi. I feel like I know so much about her just by looking at the pictures, but I know there is soooo much of her little personality that I haven't seen! Glad to see you are enjoying the outdoors there, it's finally winter here, cold! And cloudy! Enjoy the warmth and the sun, Kentucky is having none of that right now!! Love to you all,
Heather

Everyone is counting down! We cannot wait to see Naomi..I mean YOU guys at the airport! :))) So glad you'll have a little time before the holidays when you get back. Kate really loved seeing Naomi on the potty--she thought that was very funny! I can already tell they'll be good friends! :)) It will be so fun to see Naomi with all the little ones in the group--she will have so many new friends to play with. Now we won't be able to pass our little ones over to Mr.Joel....I don't think he's going to let his sweet little girl down! :) So thankful for your tender hearts & sharing this incredible special time in your life with all of us. Naomi has touched so many & she isn't even home yet! Use the flight home as time to just enjoy as the four of you..before all the madness of people that will want to get their hands on sweet Naomi & big bro Nate! Hopefully, it will be a time you can look back and reflect on your amazing journey....time you can just take it all in. We pray that Nate & Naomi both do well enough you guys can do this....OR just to SLEEP! :))))) Thanking God today for Naomi & Nate! We love you guys & can't wait to see you!!! :) The new pics were so fun to look at..the animals were great & Naomi is looking more & more like her Momma everyday! Love you!

I am glad you are finding ways to help her adjust with her likes and dislikes. I am so glad you were all able to get a good night's rest.

We will pray that the appointments tomorrow will go smoothly. Looking forward to hearing of your safe return.

We are continuing to pray for each of and our enjoying following along in your journey.

With Love,

LeeAnn, You are an amazing women! You obviously are a great mother, but you are mostly a inspirational child of GOD! I know that there have been rough times and lots of tears and questioning, but you followed thru and let God take control, and now, here you are, a beautiful wife and mother of 2! Madi and I have enjoyed looking at the pics and reading the blog every night before bed, and praying for the 4 of you. This is an amazing story for madi to know, and she is learning so much about different cultures and how important it is to have Jesus in her heart, and to spread that to everyone. She thinks Naomi was a angel sent down from heaven to wipe away your tears! I think that adopted children have a special sense that they were gifts and that they were sent from God to complete an empty space in our hearts! This trip will always be in nates memory and be a tool to help others who long for a baby. He is already a great big brother! What an amazing God we have! He never fails us, and always seems to give us what we need EXACTLY when we need it. So, we have to say, it was worth the wait!!! She is beautiful, and we can't wait to meet her. Dave commends joel for his love of nate and naomi, but mostly for his patience and love for you, during those long 2 1/2 years of waiting! He knows what joel felt as a husband who wants to make everything okay for his family! Looks like he has done a great job. What a blessing for you! We are praying everyday for the specifics of what you ask us to and we know that God will be faithful and just. I found a pic of us at angies wedding with jennifer in it and had to laugh. Look at how far we've come! To God be the glory! Amen?
Love, Synthia

Enjoy your final day in China! In some ways it feels like you have been there forever, in other ways it feels like you just left yesterday. We can't wait to get you all home. We will pray for your trip home. Ibuprofen and benadryl -- highly recommended :). We love you and miss you all so much!

Love,
Kristi
