from our family to yours

2009

I am one happy camper....I just got Lightroom 2!!!! I am just playing around with it this week, and so far only play with the white balance and saved presets, but I AM IN LOVE!!! WOWzers, I can totally mess up a picture and be able to restore it, even changing the white balance AFTER taking the pictures. :)
Aside from my new found love, life has been super busy - between adoption paperwork, Christmas preparations and festivities, watching my sweet nephew part-time, fund-raising and grant writing - oh, and raising our 2 children...well, it's been crazy :) But I wanted to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and remind you of God's love for you as you celebrate the birth of His son.
Back soon....:)

Meet Norah

Our new daughter!!!! 3 weeks ago we signed up with an agency and could not believe our eyes as we opened our e-mail early Thursday morning - there she was!!!!
Norah is 21 months old and lives in an orphanage in the southern part of China - the latitude of Mexico. She has had a cleft lip repair and we will have the palate repaired upon returning home. We hope to travel in May or June, following several months of paperwork which we started on 3 weeks ago.
We are SO thrilled, humbled, excited, overwhelmed in paperwork, and READY to love our new daughter with all our beings.
Please join us in prayer as we being the journey to being Norah home.

So thankful

Tis the Season.....

We LOVE Christmas and the celebration of Jesus' birth. To teach the kids the story in such a way for them to understand really helps keep the main thing the main thing. I don't want hustle and bustle and chaos and stress over the right gift. I want our children to have memories centered around Jesus and all He brought to us when he was born. The simplicity of the day and surroundings of His birth are worth our consideration as we approach December 25th. Mary was not at Wal-Mart buying a new flat screen for Joseph so that he would have something to do during the midnight feeding of baby Jesus. Don't get me wrong, we are called to celebrate and create a time set aside to honor Jesus and the gift He is to us. It's just finding that healthy balance between "how" we celebrate and "what" we do (and don't do) to honor Him.
May you feel the love of Jesus as you prepare to celebrate. What a gift He is.
