Meet our newest addition....

Naomi loves her :) We have yet to name her.....

She wanted to take her outside....

But it was raining....

So we enjoyed our time inside....

Through the generosity and thoughtfulness of some dear, dear long-distance friends, Naomi got some very special presents in the mail today....we LOVE them. She got some "Brown-Eyed Girls" books with an adorable "Brown Eyed Girls Rock" bag and this sweet doll.....which she adores!!! Funny thing, I saw this in a specialty store and wanted to get it for her for her birthday, but they sold out......Kim, you read my mind and heart - Naomi will cherish this in the years to come. I am so thankful!!!!
Adoption bonds families....the Lord has blessed us with the Harris family and, though we keep in touch via cyber-space, we hold them as dear friends :)

Thank you Harris Family!!!! God bless you!!

Our 5 year and our 2 year old :)
This morning, on our walk to school, the sun was out and beautiful! I could not resist grabbing my camera and having the kids pose for a few....
My mom made this precious hat for Naomi's birthday....I love it:)
I love my kids so much it brings me to tears....happy, grateful tears. What a glimpse of Heaven they both are.

2

This Sunday, October 18th - our sweet Naomi will turn 2!!! It has been such a wonderful year so far (or shall I say 11 months). Naomi has grown leaps and bounds! She went from sitting to crawling to walking all within 6 months. She is starting to sound out english words, but sweetly hanging onto "Gua gua" for Nate (chinese for big brother). She has grown A LOT (we will know for sure next week at her 2 year check up). She has overcome several little illnesses, and most recently the flu. She has come to accept us as her daddy, mommy and big brother - coming to us to find peace, comfort, rest and lots and lots of hugs. She is learning names of our family members and recognizes herself in pictures. She has a strong opinion about what she wears (clothes and shoes alike). She loves to eat :) She absolutely loves music and will dance and be entertained by it for longer than anything else we've tried.

We love you, sweet girl. Happy birthday week.

Each year we celebrate Nate's gotcha day and Joel's birthday (the same day - September 24th) by taking the family to Huber's Farm. This was Naomi's first time at a pumpkin patch and she loved it!!! Nate is almost too big (sniff, sniff) to sit on the pumpkin wagon for his annual picture....but we managed to squeeze him up there for at least one more shot. The day was very breezy (ok, in my book, WINDY) and cool, but the sun was out and Joel was off work and we made the best of it. There is something about the beginning of fall that tugs right at my heart - Joel and I fell in love in the fall and married 2 years later in the fall. We travelled to China in the fall and became a family of 4 in the fall. Lots of firsts during this beautiful season.
Nate has a few days off school this week. We are hoping for a trip to the zoo and a lil downtime here at home- we had a busy weekend around here and the kids need a jammie day (mommy does too).
Have a wonderful week!!
