happy fathers day!!

Joel, I am honored to be your wife of almost 11 years....God has blessed me with the man of my dreams. You are caring, patient, loving, a strong provider, deeply convicted, Christ-follower and most deserving of a wonderful day in your honor. Nate and Naomi are blessed to be your son and daughter....and I know they will forever remember you as loving Jesus. I cannot ask for anything more....
May all you daddies have a wonderful day!!
May we all give praise to our Heavenly Father....for it is only through His Son we are saved. What a precious gift....to be called His sons and daughters.

After the rain.....

Nate LOVES to play in the puddles after the rain. Our neighbor has the BEST driveway for a big puddle. Yesterday, after a day of off and on showers, Nate begged to go out and jump around. How could I resist, especially knowing my camera was charged up and my zoom lens was already on there?? He had fun and so did I! It's not really my thing to play and get a muddy, but I know he had a blast and I have learned to let a lot of (unimportant) things go.
As I type, Nate is at his very last day of preschool. I got a little emotional this moring dropping him off, talking to his (wonderful, and now no longer) teacher. As I walked by the 3's class, where Nate was last year, I caught a glimpse of his 2 (awesome, wonderful, now friends) teachers. This has been his world for 2 years. Now we are on to bigger (and hopefully, prayerfully, ) better things. I know the Lord has a plan for Nate's life (and Naomi's) and I am simply a vessel and very privelaged to be their mommy. It's hard sometimes, though, to "let go" and watch them grow up. Nate is still swimming. He had his first meet Monday night. He did great! He has 5 more meets to go.
Naomi is still the sweetest lil thing ever. Her personality is flourishing right now. She can laugh SO hard it makes tears on MY eyes. She loves her big brother so much. If Nate is sitting on the couch, especially in the morning or right before bed, Naomi will crawl up there and sit as close as she can to him, and he puts his little arm around her and they are so precious together. To think God destined them to be siblings....very humbling to think abour their lives and how God brought them to be Fenwicks. I love them so much it hurts!
We are hoping to set the tent up this weekend and camp in the backyard again. This time, I think the plan is for it to be Nate and ME.....I need some practice before we go "for real" so I told Joel I would rough it for one night. Hopefully it will rain (out)...OK, OK, just teasing. I know Nate would love it so we are giving it a shot.

All I got for now. I hope your week is blessed.

Summertime.....

We have had an eventful week around here!! Nate graduated from his pre-k class yesterday! It was so fun (and, to be honest, a bit emotional). We had lots of family there to cheer him on. He waved to us during the processional, which we all got a huge kick out of. The kids sang several songs and each got a certificate from their teacher. At the end they sang "Waves of Mercy" (I think that's the title)......my tears were flowing, I admit. It was so precious to see our son singing a praise song to the Lord....with all his little heart. We pray his faith increases and that he accepts Jeus into his heart at an early age.....
Today we went to Nate's swim team practice and then enjoyed a picnic and hike at a park near our house. The kids had a lot of fun playing and hiking....
So thankful for beautiful, warm weather. If only the allergies could not come with it.....

Naomi's heart cath is officially on the schedule. She will be having it done on Thursday, July 2. Due to the nature of the procedure, we are not sure if this will be an inpatient or outpatient deal. Once they are able to see more clearly the pulmonic valve, we will know what they will decide to do. A surgeon will be on call and ready to come intervene if necessary, thus keeping it a 1 surgery type of day. They won't have to wake her up and then put her back to sleep.....this is much better for all involved (including her nervous mommy).
Please pray for Naomi, her heart cath doctor and the surgeon on standby. Pray for a smooth procedure, clarity in what steps are necessary to get her heart functioning better and for the Lord to be glorified through this.

On a happier note, we are lovin summer!! Nate graduates from preschool tomorrow and then still has one more week left (?) and we are looking forward to the lazy days of summer by the pool......
