off to the beach.....
Tomorrow morning, very early in the morning, we are heading to the beach for a week. The kids are excited (OK, Nate is beside himself and Naomi has enjoyed "helping" me pack). We are so excited to see Naomi's reaction to the ocean and sand and the pool - all firsts for her!
This is the first year Nate remembers last year's vacation, and is truly looking forward to it! He keeps talking about riding our bikes on the beach and eating at the same fun restaurant we did last year. Not sure he will get much sleep tonight, he is that excited!!!
Though we are so excited to get away, we are hopeful that my mom (who is going with us, with my stepdad) will stay healthy on the trip and that Joel's sister Toni will hold off on having her sweet baby boy til we return. Baby Luke could arrive at anytime, thus it is realistic that we will be basking in the sun as she delivers, but one can hope he will hold off another week. Hang in there, Toni!!
By all means, I would never want to brag or gloat on our blog, about anything we have or do. We are so grateful to be given this opportunity to get away and are simply sharing our lives for you to read about and pray for. In fact, we keep wondering each time we get away if it will be our last for a while....with the economy and the public school schedule starting in the fall, we know that day might be coming. For now, we are thankful to have the chance to take a week and continue to bond with Naomi and let Nate run free on the beach....
Hopeful to get that "one family shot" of us on the beach.....we'll see how it goes.
Have a blessed week
