Now, we wait......
Our paperwork has been sent to China (as of August 22, 1 week after we received our referral). Now, we wait for an LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from China for Naomi specifically. Basically, when we applied for a baby in June of 2006, we applied for a healthy female child and because Naomi has a heart defect, we are changing our request and also proving our ability to care for her once she is in our arms. This LOA is the next important step. THEN, we wait for a TA (Travel Approval)...yes, LOTS of letters......once we get our TA (2-4 weeks after we receive our LOA) then we will be able to book our flights and travel dates. We hope and pray to be able to travel THIS year, before Christmas. What a present Naomi will be to us! Please join us in prayer that this will happen. Naomi, mommy and daddy love you and cannot wait to come get you!!!
Proverbs 17:17 says "A friend loves at all times."
We are so blessed to have friends that love us and our children. The past 2 years as we have waited for Naomi, there have been plenty of days that were emotionally difficult to face. We are so thankful that we had family and friends to lean on and be encouraged by. Saturday, we spent a wonderful evening celebrating Naomi with yummy Chinese food, lots of laughs and even a firepit. We were prayed for, encouraged and joy-filled as we said our goodbyes. God is good, and we praise Him for what is to come. Thank you Andy, Julie, Angie and Jason! :)Labels: Chinese Party
Baby Matt's Shower Today I got to spend the afternoon with Joel's sisters and family as we threw a fun little baby shower for Georgianne. Baby Matt is due in about 7 weeks and we are so excited to welcome him into the world! Lots of yummy food, good laughs and fun games (and prizes) were shared.
Meet Naomi Chun Yuan Fenwick!
Friday, August 15 we received a call from our agency to let us know they had a beautiful 10 month old baby girl for us to see. As soon as we saw her face, we both were completely overcome with emotion! She is SO beautiful! Naomi, the name we have given her, has congenital heart disease and may require a minor surgery or two down the road. Currently, she is in foster care in Hubai, China and is thriving well ( as you can see in those adorable cheeks!).
We are currently "pre-matched" and are spending this week gathering more paperwork and then will be waiting to hear from China for a final acceptance. We are hoping, if all goes well, that we will possibly have her home for Christmas.
Please join us in prayer as we thank God for a beautiful daughter. Please also pray that all our paperwork will go smoothly and promptly through the system . Also, we would love to travel as soon as possible.
What an answer to over 2 years of waiting and praying! God is good, it was worth every moment we have longed for her!
We love you Naomi!
We are thankful to have our house back in order - and wanted to share a few updated pictures. What a difference a coat of paint can do!

It has been a fun morning around our house today! Our countertops arrived and were installed! Joel picked these out and I did not see them until today! He did a great job and it was a good surprise (good thing, right?) Tomorrow we will have it painted and the faucet installed....then it will all be done!!!
This week has been a busy week around our house! We have decided to do some minor changes to our kitchen. Here are some before pics. More to come as we complete the renovation by the end of this week - if all goes as planned.
Nate started back to preschool this week and as we realize our summer is quickly coming to an end, we thought we would share a few highlights with you! The first picture is of Lee-Anne, Nate and Evangeline. We have had a few days this summer where we have gotten to spend time together and have enjoyed that! We also have gotten to spend time with Noah, Nate's other cousin (I looked for a picture and could not find a recent one, I'll work on that!) The lower picture is of Joel and Nate jumping off a small waterfall at a friend's pool. We spent many enjoyable hours there this summer and are very thankful for our dear friends! The far right picture is of our sweet dog, Reese, who turns 5 coming up soon! She has been a lot of fun! Nate LOVES his dog! We continue to wait on our Naomi. The Lord has taught us many valuable life lessons over the past 2 years. We anticipate to receive her within the year. Please continue to pray for us as we wait and for Naomi as she waits for her family to come and bring her home. We love you Naomi!
