Look what we got!!!!
Friday morning we received 2 updated pictures of our Sweet Norah. Need I even say we are in love. We also got some updated measurements and she is gonna be our little peanut (like her momma). She is 31 inches tall and only 26 pounds. Her 2nd birthday is fast approaching and we hope to have her in our arms in May or June.
Still waiting to hear back from our US government and get approved on this end, then the paperwork will head to China.
In other rather exciting news, Nate is READING!!! We are so excited for him. I mentioned a few posts ago that he was starting to, and now he is confident and eager to open a book. Tomorrow we re-register him at his same school (a JCPS protocol for Kindergarten and first grade).
Naomi is doing great. I'll have a post soon with some hilarious pictures I caught while she was taking her bath. Her personality is really starting to bloom even more. It really is like peeling back layers as she has been home. Lastnight we had a birthday party at a kids' gym and at first she was very hesitant to run around and try all the gym equipment. However, once she felt comfortable, she LOVED every minute of it - the spring floor, the trampolines, the hula hoop, the bouncy castle and of course the pizza and cake :)

Feeling blessed.

Still waiting...

We have filed our paperwork with the US government and are patiently waiting to hear back that they received it and have scheduled our fingerprints. After our fingerprints, we will wait several more weeks and then, once getting an approval, we will file all our paperwork with CHINA!!!!! We are still several months away from our sweet Norah, but everyday and every process gets us closer.
Naomi is a little under the weather so we are hanging around here the past several days. 2 is a fun, challenging, hilarious, funny, hard age......bless her heart. Starting to contemplate speech therapy to help her along with her english.
Nate is doing great and hoping for a huge snow in Thursday. He really loves his days off school :) He read his first book all by himself lastnight!!! We are so proud! He really did not think he could do it, putting that pressure on himself -but once he started he realized all his hardwork has paid off. It was very rewarding for Nate and for us!!!
God is good.

Not so sure

...that life gets much better than this. To see Naomi smile and laugh with all her heart is precious and priceless and, thankfully, we are seeing much more of this lately. She adores her brother and he can make her laugh and scream with delight and it is precious!!
Not a whole lot of new news in the adoption paperwork. We are waiting to hear back from our government with permission to bring an international adoptee into our country.....which will take several more weeks. We are also in the process of applying for several grants, including a matching grant from our pancake fund-raiser, Steven Curtis Chapman's grant and a few others. We are optimistic and pray the Lord provides the funds to continue to process. We are hoping to be traveling in May or June.
An exciting day today - Nate is a part of our church's worship services, representing his birth year and the Sanctity of Life.....it was a powerful and rather emotional moment watching him walk in front of thousands of people, proudly holding a rose which represented the million lives that were lost the year he was born. Praying God uses this horrendous time for Haiti in a mighty way - and those precious orphans find loving families soon.

It's in the mail.......
Our 800A that is!!!!! Whoo-hoo!!! This step has taken weeks to come together and finally we are onto the next step....WAITING. Which, as busy as things are right now, waiting will be appreciated - not too much, but a little waiting :)
Hopefully, prayerfully we will hear back with an accepted form within 8 weeks or so, then we proceed with a few technicalities then our paperwork moves on to CHINA!!!!! WOWzers....Norah will be here before we know it and we are so excited.

The Lord willing, we will travel in the summer.
