Camping and the chapel......

We have had an action packed weekend!! Friday night Joel and Nate camped out in our backyard. We have been talking about this all week, and you can only imagine how excited Nate was when we FINALLY got the tent out and started unrolling the sleeping bags. After swim practice, Joel and Nate settled in and watched a movie (via a portable player and extension cord, I mean, it was their first time and all....some electricity was necessary). They slept ALL night in the tent. Naomi and I preferred the comfort of our own beds but were happy to see them when they came inside the next morning.
Saturday, Joel's friend and co-worker got married. Our dear friend Karen kept Naomi for us while we enjoyed the wedding and reception. They had the BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. I think our table consumed the majority of them.
Here it is, late on Sunday evening and as I recap the weekend, I must say we are all pretty exhausted. The kids went right to sleep tonight and we are turning in earlier than normal, hoping to get a great start on the week ahead.
Nate is loving his swim team. He has had fun catching up with all his buddies. His first meet is a week away!

Our Sweet Naomi.....

Today we had another visit to the cardiologist for an echo on Naomi's heart, her 3rd one since we have been home. Though we were hopeful that her pulmonic valve was truly improving, it is apparent today that she needs some intervention. She will be scheduled for a heart cath (with possible balloon procedure) in the next several weeks. The appointment was sort of crazy, Naomi was scared and cried a lot and fought the echo the entire 30 minutes. Though her pulmonic readings were slightly worse today than last time, the dr. believes that may be due to her being (very, very) upset. It took Joel, myself and the dr. to keep her still for the test.....and we were all sweating and worn out when it was all done.
Naomi will have the procedure done at Kosair Hospital and potentially stay overnight, depending on how invasive they get.
I really was hopeful today that she was improving and that this would be delayed, but on the same note, I am so thankful we have been able to hold off for this long. We have had 7 months to bond, grow, and love on her.....so she will know without a doubt we are there for her and love her and will take care of her. God's timing is perfect, in every way. I am resting on this verse today:
"
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Cr. 1:3-4
