Naomi and Evangeline

Nate

Today we are celebrating 2 things:
Joel's birthday.....and Nate's gotcha day - the day we legally adopted him and made him a Fenwick forever....
We usually enjoy the day as a family at a pumpkin farm, but the rain has delayed our plans. Much to nate's dismay, he went to school today. Joel and I went and had lunch with him at school and tonight we are having pizza and a yummy birthday cake.
Life is good, God is great.....reflecting on His goodness today.
He loves us, oh how He loves us!!
We also have been spending quality time with our sweet niece, Evangeline. Her momma is on bed rest and we have loved having her. She is teaching Naomi a few things, as you can see in the top picture :)

Nate scored his first goal of the season...
Ella and Naomi, talking pacis and blankies.....:)

Nate had a blast hammering the nails....he worked the entire time and loved every minute

Nate and my Aunt Cindi, the birthday girl....

Within minutes of arriving, Nate was ready to work....we, as a family, built a wall complete with a window....

soccer and serving on a beautiful saturday morning.....
Football is in full swing these days, which means Joel has stayed busy with games on the weekends. This past Saturday morning, I took Nate to his soccer game -he scored his first goal of the season and helped his team secure a victory! He loves soccer, easily his most favorite sport. He either loves to drive the ball into the goal or play goalie....

After his game, we headed over to an already-in-progress Habitat for Humanity project at another local church. If I could have recorded the sound I would have....it was so neat to hear hundreds of hammers hitting nails all at the same time....for hours!!! The sound never stopped the whole time we were there.....the teams built 2 house frames in less than 4 hours!! Both houses are for folks right here in Louisville. Nate enjoyed this more than I thought he would. Naomi did great...she slept most of the time in her stroller....I guess the loud hammering put her to sleep :) This project was my Aunt Cindi's 60th birthday wish, to have the whole family come and spend the day together building a house. It was wonderful, productive, and Christ honoring. What more could we ask for? I so desire for my children to have a heart for Jesus and a heart for serving others. Being able to do both, together as a family, was wonderful and just what we needed.

Looking forward to this weekend. Joel does not have any football games scheduled beyond Friday night. We have a soccer game Saturday, dinner plans and lots of freetime in between....!!

Have a blessed week....
